Youth Business Initiative (YBI) is a D.C. local nonprofit organization that was established to strategically position youth and young adults in foster care to successfully transition to healthy independence. Founded by alumni of the foster care system, YBI and its staff are uniquely qualified to help foster youth become actively engaged in developing their potential and living life successfully. YBI accomplishes its mission by offering a residential summer institute, school year Saturday academy and service learning program to youth in foster care. These programs present participants and the adults that support then with tools, resources, and opportunities to help navigate their futures and feel more supported and secure as they enter adulthood.
